Partners

Berkshire Agricultural Ventures has multiple partners with whom we have closely cooperated.

Our closest collaborators include the following nonprofit organizations:

Berkshire Grown

From fall 2015 to spring 2017, BAV operated as a program of Berkshire Grown,  a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to outreach, education and marketing for the food and farming sector in the Berkshire region. As the region’s prime champion of farms and local food, Berkshire Grown promotes eating local, ensures farms are viable businesses and helps preserve the Berkshires’ rural character. The organization offers farm-to-table networking and chef-farmer connections, and provides resources and workshops as well as advocates for farmers. Berkshire Grown is part of the Massachusetts Coalition for Local Food and Farms working to strengthen local agriculture and increase local food consumption. Berkshire Grown’s Share the Bounty Program distributes farm-fresh produce to local food pantries and kitchens and subsidizes shares in CSA farms.

Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, facilitated our partnership with Berkshire Grown and served as fiscal agent for BAV until spring 2017. Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation (BTCF) is a tax-exempt public charity founded in 1987, created by and for the people of the Berkshire-Taconic region. For 30 years, they have been helping people establish charitable funds to make life better in the communities they love. BTCF works with individuals, families, businesses, financial advisors and nonprofits. Through the generosity of donors, they provide essential funding for programs in education, health care, basic human needs, the arts, the environment and more—helping the community thrive now and long into the future. Each year, BTCF helps thousands of donors achieve their philanthropic goals and hundreds of nonprofits carry on their good work.

Given the nature of our work and anticipated alignment between our respective strategic priorities in the future, these partnerships are expected to continue and grow.
